Enterprise Car Rentals

Many people don’t have cars. Even in America it’s a fact. There are also people who have a car but travel to different cities where they’ll need a car. That’s when rental cars become important. And one of the companies people choose most often is Enterprise. That’s because Enterprise car rentals are not overly pricey, they’re generally in good shape, and Enterprise will even pick up the renter from home, from the office, or from the airport.

Enterprise has many locations all over the nation. They offer a variety of cars from sub compact all the way up to SUVs. In some locations there are even convertible sports cars available. Hey, if traveling away from home and in a sunny location, why not add some enjoyment to the trip? They even have cheap rates. It’s a fabulous deal when a car can be had for about $300 per week. Throw this into the spreadsheet. Use public transportation for the daily commute. Use the low weekend rates to rent an auto for running around town. That’s only about $60 to cover all the car use. Even a car lease can’t match the value of $3500 a year for auto use.

Enterprise also offers fleet management services to small businesses. This includes any business that provides cars to employees such as sales businesses, or businesses with multiple locations where traveling supervisors or managers make visits. Fleet management is complex. The cars much be purchased, maintained, and all the legalities such as insurance and registration apply to fleet cars too. When a car becomes too worn for use it must be replaced. A successful business sticks to its business, not to extras like a fleet of cars. Enterprise can take the fleet off their minds.

Enterprise even sells cars that have ended their life in rental fleets. Enterprise maintains their vehicles well. That goes counter to the impression of a car always driven by non-owners who really don’t care about it. Car renters do care about the cars because companies like Enterprise charge penalties for damage and misuse. Also, they are maintained according to manufacturer specifications. Private owners are often lax on maintenance, and their cars are the ones sold used by dealers.

Did you know there was that much to Enterprise car rentals?

Thrifty Car Rental

Car rental companies have some interesting names. Names like Budget and Dollar give renters the impression of low cost, a great deal, while names like Enterprise engender smart business. Thrifty may have the best name of all. People who manage money well are thrifty. So when people are looking for cars to rent, there’s no better decision than to save money, spend it wisely and only when necessary. In other words, to be thrifty.

Thrifty began in the car rental business way back in 1958. It offered stock in the 1980’s before being purchased by Chrysler in 1989 . Later it was paired with another auto rental business called Dollar. With one of the best known brands in the world, Thrifty continues to be tops in the car rental industry. Chrysler, Dodge and Jeep cars make up its fleet.

Thrifty does some other things outside car renting. Thrifty sells cars that outlive their rental use. People use these cars for short stints, so many think they’re abused. Most of the cars are treated well, however. They receive all the scheduled maintenance, unlike many used cars at dealerships that come from private customers who are lax on such care. Furthermore, penalties for damage encourage rental car drivers to take extra special care of the car while in their charge. Thus, cars sold by rental companies tend to be in better overall condition than used cars from private owners.

Another business Thrifty operates is long term airport parking. Long term parking offers low cost, safe lots for people who need to park their vehicles while traveling. Thrifty lots are somewhere near almost every airport in the world.

Here’s some more Thrifty history. When Volkswagen Beetles first came to America they made a deal with Thrifty to rent them to help introduce them to the public. The Beetle cost $6 a day to rent. In the wild and wacky 60’s Thrifty took advantage of the general playboy mentality with Miss Thrifty. She was a young, good looking woman who would shuttle customers to Thrifty’s facilities near the airport. Perhaps most interesting of all was Miss Thrifty wore Scottish plaid.

It’s not joke, is Thrifty car rental. But it has a weird and wild side also. Maybe they’ll offer a free upgrade if you don a kilt.
